CASCADES LIFESTYLE Park at Tomas Morato (and our favorite SHOU hand-pulled noodles)

For several reasons, my wife and I weren’t able to plan any huge trips for the months of January and February. Financial constraints and our hectic schedule (work, home, repeat on the weekdays and church on Sundays) made planning really complicated and gave me an excuse from it. Let’s include the just finished 2-week church-wide fast last January and the ongoing battle inside my head. In lieu of this, we mostly relied on few spontaneous trips and several restaurant dates because of course, it’s still something necessary (LOL!). Out of nowhere, I thought of adding food/restaurant reviews to the roster of my usual blog entries that varies from travelling, photography,…

MALABRIGO BEACH, Lobo, Batangas: stones and reminders of home

I’m sitting on my bed, in front of my laptop thinking “Should I still blog about these? I think we’ve visited the place a thousand times already.” as I scan through the few photos I took during the New Year’s Day using the camera that I just bought last year. Well, I’m just exaggerating (LOL). Maybe not thousand. But the number weren’t that low either. Thinking to myself “Why not?” led me to push through with writing about it. Anyway, these photos I’m talking about were those at my wife’s hometown in Lobo, Batangas particularly that beach in Barangay Malabrigo. It’s like our once-in-a-while backyard… for several years now. The first time I’ve visited the town was way back…

    GOODBYE 2017…

It’s already normal for people to post on social media their highlights for the outgoing year as another year fast approaches. In the Millenial setting, mostly photos of travels, significant learnings, events, and other things that went through that passing year. Similarly, they also somehow place their goals for the upcoming year. May it be lose weight, save money, travel the world, etc. There’s nothing wrong with it actually. Anyone can list down which they consider a significant change in their lives in order to gauge how much have they achieved and how far they still have to go in order to reach their dreams. Therefore, I don’t quite understand…

    MARVEL ZANE – vol. 4

Christmas just came last Monday and the start of another year is fast approaching. For Filipinos like my wife and I, it’s like the longest season of the year. As soon as what we call the “Ber” months starts (September, October, November, December), we start counting the days before Christmas. Buildings and houses are decorated with dazzling lights and colorful lanterns; various parties are being organized and; sumptuous feasts are being prepared at every place where it is being celebrated.  Gifts are also being given and like the usual, my wife and I received only few clothes given by some of our relatives. Adulting huh? LOL! Well, it doesn’t end on…

Reasons I left my heart in MANLY, NSW

Of all the places we’ve visited in New South Wales almost three months ago, I can say that Manly is my favorite of them all. Although it’s never the part of our plan to visit it. I remember that it’s only two days before our return flight back to the Philippines when we came up with the idea of visiting this place the next day. My youngest sister’s friend, whose currently based in Sydney, came up with the idea of visiting this place. Also, my middle sister and her partner were already scheduled to go back to Auckland a day earlier than our flight. Thus, it’s only the six of…
